This competency assessment tool prepares packhouse pest identifiers for pest identification at different skill levels. MPI refers to the different levels as 'the levels of your assessed ability'.
The programme consists of tests for different levels of skills:
• Basic level – tests identification of pest groups.
• Advanced level – tests identification of lower level more complex pest group.
Each test shows a number of pest identification questions.
- Some questions show one pest image; others show more images of the same pest.
- Additional text may provide extra identification information such as 'requires 20x magnification'.
- Multiple choice answers permit only one correct answer.
Getting started
Step 1 – Appoint a System Manager.
Step 2 – The System Manager registers on myfruitINSPECTOR.
Step 3 – The System Manager registers the packhouse inspector(s).
Step 4 – The inspectors confirm the registration and can then take the tests.
Passing the test
Each test must be passed with 100% correct answers. Once a test has been passed, the assessed level of pest identification ability is added to your file, building up your ability with each passed test.
The basic level is a single test with multiple pest groups. Advanced levels tests can be selected so that it is possible to test skill level for a specific pest group (i.e. mites or diseases).
Upon completion of a certification test, you will receive immediate notice of your score. This may take a couple of minutes to generate. You will get ten attempts to pass each test, contact your Systems Manager if you exceed ten tries.
